How to Choose the Right Wedding Venue. Here Some Tips!
What you need to know when starting to do venue scouting to search for the perfect one for you.
Choosing the venue is one of the most intense phases of the planning. It is not an optional and it is a factor that will contribute in the success of your celebration. It is the frame of your event so choose right and wisely! Here some tips for a guaranteed perfect party!
Timeline
For a destination wedding, the venue is booked like 1.5 year prior to the wedding (covid19 on the side β 2021 is almost fully booked due to postponed wedding so this is uncommon). Of course, there is no exact timeline but the sooner you book, the better chance you have to snag your first choice!
How much flexibility you have in choosing the wedding date?
Respecting your wedding date (specific time of year or season?) or just see the availability of the venue and choose the date? I have had couples who were fixed to a date because of the story it had behind it and narrowed down the list drastically!
Location
Distant from point A to point B (from the ceremony area to the reception area β this if you are planning to celebrate these 2 moments in 2 different areas).
Style
What kind of venue are you envisioning? What kind of landscape you wish to have as frame of your wedding? Is it elegant or rustic? You prefer indoor or outdoors? Be sure that your venue perfectly matches with your wedding style
Capacity
Once you have the done the headcount, you can choose the venue that could host all your guests both in the outdoors and indoors. Indoor capacity is important to see if in case of rainy days, you have a Plan B ready to face this important aspect. Plus ask yourselves how much important is for the venue to have accommodation onsite as well and how long are the other hotels nearby. Think of the comfort of your guests too π
Budget and inclusions
You might stick to the budget you have decided, therefore be sure to ask for a detailed quotation when reaching out to the venue. Be sure they enlist all the inclusions and extra or hidden cost. This is the reason why I always recommend to personally tour the venue before booking them. Sometimes pictures do not make justice of the place and viceversa, it may seem stunning from the images, but when you see it in person, itβs a total disappointment. If you are not able to go personally, ask the venue to organize a virtual tour that will clear up your mind in terms of the spaces and how the wedding moments will flow seamlessly.
Curfew/Restrictions
Be sure to ask if they rent the venue exclusively for you or if they accept other events during your wedding, or simply if there could be other guests staying in the venue (this is more if they have rooms onsite) and consequently have music restrictions.
Trust your gut and be stay true to yourselves
Donβt choose a venue based on the pictures of other wedding, because it is not written anywhere that what might look gorgeous with that style, it automatically beautiful with your envision and style. Pick a venue that is perfectly in harmony with your personality.
